December Newsletter

Meeting - December 13, 2010

Letter from the President

With my last meeting as Guild President approaching, I want to say that I have enjoyed serving as your President and really do appreciate all the help from the officers who served with me and all the other members who have helped in many ways throughout the year. As I said in the last meeting, all of you have made my job easy. Cooperation, a willingness to help and sharing with each other is what makes a guild or any other organization successful. Thank you so much for a wonderful year. I hope you will continue with the wonderful support you have given me as Terry takes over in January. Terry needs the support of each and every one of us for a successful year.

Our December meeting is always a lot of fun and this year will be no exception, so I hope you can be there. We will have our apron exchange and will do that as part of a game that is always fun. Your apron should be a holiday apron, but can be for any holiday throughout the year. You can make your apron from any pattern you choose.

We will also be presenting the pillowcases to ADFAC (Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachain Counties) for distribution to teenagers in the area. Your pillowcases can be made from Christmas fabric or any other fabric you choose. There is an easy pattern the members of the guild usually use, but if you want to use your own pillowcase pattern, that is fine too.

Beverly really had not planned for us to play the dice game until January, but since so many of you have requested that we play, we will finish off our party with our Left, Center, Right dice game. You will need to bring 3 fat quarters to play and the theme this time is snow. Fat quarters with snowmen or any snowy theme will be appropriate.

Be sure to bring a finger food and if you want to go ahead and pay your dues ($15) for next year, Pat Lakers will be prepared to accept your money. Our dues are not actually due until February 15th. At that time, any open membership slots will be available to those on our waiting list.

I look forward to seeing you on December 13th!

Wanda
