Applique the Easy Way Supply List - April 10 -Jodi Savage
















Learn to appliqué in a way that is fun, easy and beautiful. No pins, no over-lays, no fusible..... and no needle-turn. This freezer-paper method of appliqué preparation can be sewn by hand or machine with stunning results. Learn the techniques on a simple block and once mastered, you will be able to easily appliqué the most complicated designs with the tiniest pieces. Pattern, detailed technique instructions and pre-printed freezer paper templates are included in class fee. Hand appliqué will be demonstrated in class.

Tools and Supplies needed for class
1 Light colored fat quarter for background cut into a 12 ½ X 12 ½ inch square
1 fat quarter for the heart shape & various scraps for the flower and leaves
Firm ironing mat (like June Taylor’s)
Mini craft iron (Clover)
Stiletto (I prefer a metal tip like P3 Designs)
¼ inch Stencil brush (make sure it is ¼ inch)
Small fabric and paper scissors
#11 Straw needles
Fine point Sharpie pens in Black and Red
Roxanne’s Glue Baste It
Aleene’s OK to wash fabric glue
Spray starch and Small jar (mini-jelly size)
Roll of Reynolds freezer paper (grocery store near foil & plastic wrap)
Cotton or silk thread (like Mettler #60 or DMC #50

Nice to have, but not required to get started
Travel size iron
Small curved scissors for cutting freezer paper templates (Like Fiskars)
P3 Designs Pressing Tool (aids in sewing points and pressing concave areas)
¼ inch bias maker (Clover)
Thread Heaven thread conditioner
Pinking rotary cutter blade or pinking sheers to cut background fabric
8.5 x 11 inch freezer paper sheets ( P3 Designs or Jenkins)
You do not need to bring your sewing machine to Class
