Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying the nice weather. My only problem is that I am now torn between wanting to be outside and wanting to sew. I actually felt that way when I started to Jodi Savage's appliqué class on Saturday. The weather was so pretty and I wasn't sure I wanted to give up that pretty day to spend inside in class. But the class was great! I am ready to tackle all the appliqué I have put off for so long - including those Old World Santa's from a few years ago that I was sure I would never finish. Jodi's technique is by far the best I have ever tried!
I was asked the question on Saturday about how many classes our guild sponsors and how that is decided. The classes are scheduled based on interest of the members. So, if you are interested in a class and there are enough members who wish to participate, we will try to set up the class. Of course, scheduling is dependent on the instructor and availability of a classroom.
I hope you are all working on your Hospitality House quilts. If you have not started yet, there is still plenty of time. There are lots of easy patterns out there and really nice fabric. You need to follow the theme "Games People Play" and the size specifications if you want to compete for the prizes, but if you have a quick and easy pattern you would like to make and already have fabric to use, I guarantee that your quilt will not be turned down. Any quilt you decide to make will be appreciated. We do set the guidelines for the size to accommodate the patients during chemo treatments, but the theme is just for fun.
I hope you will all be able to be with us on Monday night as we welcome Gina's Bernina for our program. I look forward to seeing you then!
