Norris Guild Visit on August 23 - Celia Shanks / Patty Ashworth

Five members joined the Norris Guild for their 8/23 meeting.  We are calling the Norris group our "sister guild" and it has been sugested that we to work together to accomplish projects.   Celia and Narda put together kits to make blocks for a finished quilt.  The Norris Guild took lots of the kits so more were made for Ritzy Thimble.  Lots of the kits were taken by our members.  A great way to get a quilt ready to use as a fund raiser or donation quilt.

A motion was made to have the Guild pay for Room Rental for classes but actually this is already being done.  Many of us did not know this!  Good discovery!

Mini Quilt Show for Greenfield Assisted Living in Oak Ridge - Narda Hipsher

Narda received an email from a manager at Greenfield asking if we could provide some quilts to be displayed for the residents of Greenfield to admire.  They have a large quilt on display in one of their big rooms and would like to expand this.  The Guild responded favorably and decided we could do this on Friday, October 20th.  Each of us will need to bring a quilt and a couple of pants hangers (will be used to hang the quilts) to our October meeting in order to accomplish this.  There will be no formal judging.  Let's make this a success and show what our Guild can do on short notice.  This will bring a lot of joy to these elderly residents.

DISCUSSION and MOTION
A motion has been made and passed to move our meeting date beginning in January 2018.

We will begin meeting on the 2nd Monday night of every month at 6 pm.

Hopefully this will allow us to avoid having to move the meeting date throughout the year!
