December 2017 Meeting

Merry Christmas!!!!!


December 11, 2017 Ritzy Thimble Meeting Minutes

Celia called us to order a little after 6 by wishing us all a Merry Christmas and reflecting on the past year as our president.  Thank you Celia for a great job in 2017!

2017 Christmas Challenge - Patty Ashworth We had our mug rug Christmas exchange...What a fun way to celebrate Christmas and our quilting skills!  Great job Patty!


 Bags for Beads of Courage - Lin Stricker, Sassy Foster and Pat Lakers


Kits are available and will be distributed in January.  The bags are due in March


 WORKSHOPS/CLASSES


Bionic Gear Bag signups started.  Sharon Clayton to teach class on Sat. Feb. 10, 2018 at Civic Center.  See Narda for details. 


Quilt Exhibit being planned for 2019


Patty Ashworth gave us a heads up about plans for an exhibit to be held at the Art Center in Oak Ridge - more on this later 


President's Block - Celia Shanks


If you would like to make a 9 1/2" unfinished block for Celia's quilt, please see her for the fabric and instructions.  Due in January and February 2018.


REMINDERS


Information has been handed out about the Smoky Mountain Quilters Quilt Show on June 15 & 16, 2018 at the Knoxville Expo Center.  For more information and entry forms, visit www.smokymtnquilters.com


Mystery Quilt Project will begin in February 2018


NEW: Colleen Thomas is organizing a group purchase of Rotary Blades.  The order will be placed after our January 8, 2018 meeting.
